FAQ

Do I need a consultation before booking a treatment?

While not required, we recommend a consultation for new patients or anyone considering injectable or regenerative treatments so Dr. Ranat can confirm candidacy and tailor your plan.

Are your treatments performed by a licensed physician?

Yes. Every treatment at Skin FX MD is personally performed by Dr. Ranat, a U.S. board-certified physician.

How do I know how many units or syringes I need?

Unit and syringe counts are determined during your consultation based on your anatomy and goals — we never recommend self-selecting dosage online.

What is the difference between a neuromodulator and a dermal filler?

Neuromodulators (like Botulinum Toxin) relax muscle activity to soften dynamic lines, while dermal fillers add volume and structure to static areas.

How long do results typically last?

This varies by treatment — neuromodulators last 3–4 months, dermal fillers 9–18 months, and regenerative therapies build progressively over several months.

Is there downtime after treatment?

Most treatments involve little to no downtime, though mild redness, swelling or bruising is possible depending on the procedure.

Can treatments be combined in one visit?

Yes, many patients combine complementary treatments in a single visit; Dr. Ranat will advise on optimal sequencing and timing.

Do you offer payment plans or financing?

Please speak with our patient care team about available membership and package options that can help distribute costs.

What should I avoid before an injectable treatment?

We recommend avoiding blood thinners, alcohol, and excessive sun exposure for 24–48 hours prior to treatment.

Are your dermal fillers FDA/CDSCO approved?

We use only internationally recognized, regulatory-approved injectable products sourced through authorized channels.

What is PRP and is it safe?

PRP (Platelet-Rich Plasma) uses your own blood's growth factors to stimulate rejuvenation, making it a very low-risk, biologic treatment option.

How is a thread lift different from a facelift?

A thread lift is a non-surgical procedure using dissolvable sutures to lift and stimulate collagen, offering more subtle results with far less downtime than surgery.

Can men receive treatment at Skin FX MD?

Absolutely — we welcome and regularly treat male patients across all our treatment categories.

What ages do you typically treat?

We treat adult patients of all ages, from those in their twenties seeking preventative treatment to patients in their sixties and beyond.

Do you offer virtual consultations?

Yes, initial virtual consultations are available for out-of-town patients planning a clinic visit.

How far in advance should I book before an event?

For injectables, we recommend booking 2–4 weeks prior to allow full results to settle; for peels or facials, 3–7 days is typically sufficient.

What if I'm unhappy with my results?

Your comfort and satisfaction matter deeply to us — please contact our patient care team within two weeks of treatment so Dr. Ranat can assess and advise on next steps.

Can I wear makeup after treatment?

For most injectable treatments, makeup can typically be applied the following day; peels and microneedling may require 24–48 hours before makeup application.

Do you sell gift cards?

Yes, Skin FX MD gift cards are available in multiple denominations and are redeemable toward any treatment or product.

How do memberships work?

Our memberships offer monthly treatment credits and preferred pricing with no long-term contract — you may pause or cancel at any time.
